A combined theory and practical course for anyone thinking of starting their own PUPPY training classes.

This course will cover essential basic training exercises and their execution using positive reinforcement (clicker).

During the practical exercises students will work with a variety of puppies which will provide an invaluable wealth of handling experience.

This course will include a two hour observation session of real classes in operation.

Vivian and her team offer a unique opportunity to get hands on experience for those considering starting up their own classes.

We recommend doing this course as a preparation for the ‘Introduction to Carrying Out Pet Dog Training Classes’ course.

What the student will learn

In addition to the practical work students will learn about:

Development and how it may affect learning
Diet and its effects on behaviour
How to recognise stress in a class situation
Body language – using video clips and real puppies
The benefits of socialisation and habituation
Learning theory
How to teach dogs basic exercises
Dealing with dog owners and their needs
Off lead play

Course Details

Course Type:	Practical, powerpoint presentation with workbook to be completed.
Course Format:	3-day attendance at The Pet Behaviour Centre, Unit 2 One Mansion Street, Cambuslang, Glasgow, G72 7JN, Scotland, Tel: 0141 646 5858 A sandwich lunch will be provided and tea and coffee will be available throughout the day. *PLEASE LEAVE YOUR OWN DOGS AT HOME*
